“Sicilian Traditional Pasta – Classic Edition” is a meal kit for enjoying pasta according to the most classic Sicilian recipes in a few minutes with local artisan pasta, traditional toppings, and a superior category EVO oil, at the best value for money. 

The pack includes:

  • Pasta, made by Molino Ferrara with 100% Organic Sicilian Wheat Semolina Pasta, perfect to embrace any sauce, enhancing each dish in a divine way; “Paccheri” have the characteristic shape of large macaroni; “Cavati” is a rare type of handmade pasta; “Bucatini” are a thick spaghetti-like pasta with a hole running through the center.
  • “Alla norma” topping, by Nasonte, is a ready-made sauce of Sicilian tradition, mainly prepared with fresh tomatoes and eggplants, delicious to taste on most types of pasta.
  • Pistachio pesto, by Nasonte. A ready-made sauce of Sicilian tradition, based on pistachio flour. Ideal for dressing appetizers, side dishes and first courses.
  • Wild fennel pesto with sardines, by Molino Ferrara, is a product that recalls the genuine flavors of the past, prepared in an absolutely artisanal way following ancient Sicilian recipes and without preservatives and flavorings. 
  • “Olio Vardaro”, the green gold of Sicily, is a Sicilian superior category EVO oil, from the milling of 100% Sicilian olives, within 12 hours of harvesting; obtained with mechanical procedures and cold processing, it is a limited production using only 100% organic olives from their own olive grove; its unique sweet and round flavor, almost nutty, makes it particularly suitable for salads, soups and roast meats.

  • “Alla norma” topping: This preparation is ideal for seasoning pasta, giving life to exceptional dishes, with great flavor and a very intense scent, with all the nutritional benefits associated with its ingredients. Tomato is, in fact, rich in lycopene, useful for preserving the health of the skin and sight. Eggplant has antioxidants like vitamins A and C, which help protect your cells against damage. It’s also high in natural plant chemicals called polyphenols, which may help cells do a better job of processing sugar if you have diabetes.
  • Pistachio pesto: This preparation is ideal for seasoning pasta, giving life to exceptional dishes. Alternative tasting tips with the ingredients in this kit:

  • Cavati” pasta goes very well with pestos and pistachio pesto or almond & pistachio pesto are perfect choices.
  • Paccheri are very versatile: they can be prepared with dried tomatoes, au gratin with meat sauce, stuffed or alternatively with seafood; sundried tomato pesto is a perfect combination.
  • Bucatini can be also enjoyed with broccoli and anchovies or with seafood; “bucatini all’arancia”, with julienned orange peel and anchovies is also an interesting choice.
  • “Alla norma” topping goes perfectly with many types of pasta, including penne, fusilli and sedani rigati
  • Pistachio pesto goes perfectly with cavati and potato gnocchi as a condiment.
  • Wild fennel pesto with sardines is also excellent on bruschetta

Olio Vardaro is recommended on salads, soups and roasted meats. It is also excellent on bread as a single starter or for pinzimonio.  Ideal for seasoning bruschetta  or Sicilian pastas.

  • Pastas: once the package has been opened, it can be closed with a clothes peg and stored in the pantry.
  • Pestos and toppings: after opening the package, keep it in the fridge and use it within 3 days.
  • “Olio Vardaro”: keep the olive oil in its bottle, far away from heat sources at a temperature of 15 / 20 C° (59 / 68 F°). Make sure the bottle is not left half empty
